Meet & Greet – Saturday 28 July – 9am to 11am
On Saturday the 28th of July we will be having a meet and greet with Community Support Services at the Kensington B Park from 9:00 to 11:00.
Come and meet the Reaction Officers and the new paramedic team that will be servicing our area.
They can also answer any questions you might have!
Sign ups
We have 55 sign ups on the full package and 55 sign ups on the Home safety package and panic systems. We need another 40 sign ups by the 1st of September 2018 to meet our target of 150 members.
We are on track to meet that target.
Impact on Crime so far.
In June we had 4 incidents once the patrol car was in the area. In July so far we had 3 incidents reported to SAPS and 2 incidents that were not reported these were both incidents where electric fences were interfered with.
This is far below our average of 27 incidents a month for the year so far. We will continue to check up on Community Support Services and are having daily meetings with the reaction officers on the ground.
Second Vehicle
Community Support services have purchased a second vehicle, a Polo Vivo as a dedicated night vehicle. We have then two dedicated vehicles in the suburb, one for the day shift and one for the night shift.
This also serves as a back up, if one vehicle needs to be serviced or has an accident, there is a back up vehicle. Or if we have an uptick in crime – we then have a second vehicle available to respond.
Miracle Mission & Mandela Day.
Community Support Services and the KRA have teamed up to improve the security at Miracle Mission Children’s home for Mandela day. The KRA have purchased a new panic button system and Community Support Services have donated free armed response to them.
A big thank you to Community Support Services and all the residents who have supported Miracle Mission.
Signs
Community Support Services as part of the package includes two signs. Should you wish to have more signs please note that there is a charge of R57 per extra sign.
Medical Response & Paramedic Response
We have had two incidents in the suburb were emergency medical services were required. ER24 was dispatched by the Community support Control room. Thankfully in both cases the patients are ok.
New Paramedic Team
Community Support Services have started a new paramedic team with a specialised vehicle to give intermediate life support in emergencies. This new service will be launched at the end of the month and will complement their current services.
